Michael Asch, son of Folkways Records’ founder Moses Asch & former professor at U of A, donated 2,000 Folkways recordings to the university in 1985. Under the name “Folkways Alive!” the archive has coordinated w/ U of A’s Canadian Centre for Ethnomusicology.
