Richard Carlin will be speaking & signing copies of his book, Worlds of Sound: The Story of Smithsonian Folkways, @ the bookstore of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, tomorrow from 6-7pm. The book chronicles the journey that began w/ the founding of Folkways Records in 1948 by Moses Asch, who sought to document “people’s music” & sounds from around the world.
